Open Bionics is looking for an experienced Community Manager to join our team! The Community Manager will be responsible for developing, creating, and sharing fun content that is on brand across multiple channels. You will communicate with our active audience and keep them up-to-date with the latest news from Open Bionics and the wider prosthetics and Tech for Good industry. Our audience is full of people who are interested in bionics, robotics, tech for good, assistive devices, healthcare, and futurism. You will share these interests and be a thought leader in this space.

Your duties

  • Create and execute a multi-channel community strategy that helps grow a recognisable brand

  • Create content and engaging campaigns which delights audiences

  • Develop all channels as thought leaders

  • Responsible for managing and executing daily community outreach activities, including email, social media (eg. YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, SnapChat) blogs and forums

  • Create reporting tools/dashboard that monitors all activities and provide the business with daily/weekly/monthly updates; make recommendations based on data analytics and insight

  • Support activities at key events - press, community, trade

  • Responsible for ensuring all messaging is "on-brand" and adheres to agreed tone of voice

  • Act as key contact with consumers and assist with any problem solving or issue resolution, in a professional and timely manner

  • Assist in the creation of engaging content that promotes the brand and drives retention

  • Create & manage Content Marketing calendar

  • Assist with developing research & insight to support the business

  • Keeping up to date on all current trends to ensure that our brands are ahead of the curve

  • Participate in additional projects and other ad hoc requirements for the Marketing team

  • Work with the marketing manager and director to build creative campaigns

  • Having developed and worked on viral international campaigns is advantageous

  • Create monthly data reports using social insight tools

  • Use monthly data deep dives to inform longer term social strategies


  • Track record of consistent success in building communities/fan base on a national / global basis

  • Expert in the cradle to grave management of all social media channels - deep understanding of each platform, audiences and how to build & engage with them

  • Has successfully planned & executed Influencer outreach programs

  • Excellent communicator (both written and oral) with strong presentation skills

  • Balance between highly creative and analytical - we love using data to make choices!

  • Team player that is also self motivated

  • Passion for technology, bionics, and helping people

  • Good working knowledge of suite of tools, including Hootsuite, HTML, Google Analytics, MailChimp
